Gayance (Aïsha Vertus) is a Montréal-born, Lisbon-based producer, DJ and multidisciplinary artist whose work sits at the intersection of high-art sensibility and dancefloor instinct. After moving from documentary filmmaking into electronic music, she released her debut album 'Mascarade' (2023), which earned a Polaris Music Prize nomination. Her sound blends 2000s hip-hop textures, jazzy and soulful house, London broken beat and Brazilian rhythms, informed by her Haitian heritage and a multicultural upbringing across Brazil, Belgium and the Netherlands. Signed to Tru-Thoughts, she has performed at festivals such as MUTEK and been profiled by Mixmag. She remains highly active, releasing the singles 'hellooooo????' (May 2026) and 'Liberation Lullaby' (June 2026).
