Classically and jazz-trained, he studied jazz, classical percussion and audio engineering at Ithaca College, and cut his teeth playing drums in metal, punk, funk and jazz bands before turning to production. That background shows in his music: deeply layered compositions where buttery chord structures melt into his signature dusty beats and intricate sound design. He cites Roy Hargrove, Flying Lotus, Shigeto, juj and Elaquent as touchstones for the way they blur the line between hip-hop and jazz. His catalog spans EPs and singles like 'Gates' and 'Yuzu', released across respected lo-fi and chillhop homes including Inner Ocean Records, Chillhop Music and PLYGRND. A genuine multi-instrumentalist rather than a sample flipper, he keeps a steady release schedule and remains active into 2026 with singles such as 'New Leaf'. ## Has worked with [Explore all credits](https://obra.art/g-mills#artistas) 4.7M Total plays & views Projects20 Since2023 Verified streams · verified today 4,731,522 +5 K a day · +135 K a month, on average 20 projects · 12 artists · since 2023 spotify 100 % 4,731,522 80 days · Total ## Records [800K has passed 800,000 streams New Leaf aimless, G Mills 36 days ago](https://obra.art/g-mills/new-leaf) [30K has passed 30,000 streams Ballad of the Wind Fish (lofi) G Mills, GameChops 52 days ago](https://obra.art/g-mills/ballad-of-the-wind-fish-lofi-2) [400K has passed 400,000 streams Sometimes It’s Hard To Say Molly McPhaul, G Mills 58 days ago](https://obra.art/g-mills/sometimes-its-hard-to-say) [20K has passed 20,000 streams Buzz G Mills, GameChops 63 days ago](https://obra.art/g-mills/buzz) Most played ## Most played [01 New Leaf aimless, G Mills 864.458 864 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/new-leaf) [02 Ember G Mills 643.624 644 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/ember) [03 30 G Mills 594.812 595 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/30) [04 Sometimes It’s Hard To Say Molly McPhaul, G Mills 422.833 423 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/sometimes-its-hard-to-say) [05 New Dae El Train, G Mills 419.617 420 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/new-dae) [06 Friends Arbour, G Mills 309.403 309 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/friends) [07 Missed Call chief., G Mills 291.652 292 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/missed-call) [08 Pepperidge Lamar Birocratic, G Mills 230.821 231 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/pepperidge-lamar) [09 Teehee G Mills, Guillaume Muschalle, Loyae 189.509 190 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/teehee) [10 Facts Machine Birocratic, G Mills 109.688 110 K](https://obra.art/g-mills/facts-machine) Has worked with ## 12 artists.
