Exposed to music from a young age, FloFilz grew up in Germany and Belgium before moving to Berlin in 2020. He studied violin and classical music from 2009–2016 and started making beats in 2012, while playing in orchestras. In addition to his parents, both musicians, he cites A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, and Madlib as key influences. Recognised as one of Germany's most in-demand producers, the self-taught bedroom beatmaker has built his reputation around Europe and the world with a seductive blend of jazz, soul, and hip-hop-influenced grooves. Taking inspiration from London's jazz scene, FloFilz has collaborated with MF DOOM, Alfa Mist, Loyle Carner, Kofi Stone, Biig Piig, Blue Lab Beats, HNNY, Wun Two and many others. His album Close Distance was supported by Tom Ravenscroft on BBC6 Music, alongside Worldwide FM, interfm Tokyo, Rinse FM and NTS. Recent releases include Hagaki (2025) and the 2026 single Highroller.
