Firungi (meaning "foreigner" in Hindi) is a Brooklyn-based producer and DJ exploring modern identity through global rhythm. Rooted in percussion-driven club music, his work moves between house, global club, and rhythm-forward electronic spaces — treating the dancefloor as ritual rather than genre. Active in club culture since childhood and shaped by a family of DJs and musicians, he developed a distinct percussive language that has earned support from Keinemusik, Dennis Cruz, Jyoty, Bedouin, Damian Lazarus, and countless others. Since relocating to New York in 2022, he has performed alongside Chris Lake, Prospa, and Bontan while releasing on MoBlack Records and his own Fly Foreign Records imprint. His June 2026 single "Putaria" lands amid a wave of Afro-Latin club weapons, following Beatportal's June 2026 emerging artists spotlight. Beyond music, Firungi runs limited-run clothing capsules and a label dedicated to showcasing global influences across genres.
