Dwson (Ashwin Julies) is a South African record producer and DJ from Cape Town, born in 1994. A prominent fixture in South Africa's deep house scene since his 2015 debut, his production ranges across downtempo, melodic house and stripped-down deep tech. He has released on prestigious labels including Freerange Records, Atjazz Record Company, DeepWit, Aluku and Cape Town's Stay True Sounds (home of Kid Fonque), with albums from Luna (2017) and Bermuda (2019) to Freya (2021) and Say Less. He has shared stages with and opened for Keinemusik, Kaytranada and Black Coffee, and played Cape Town Electronic Music Festival, ULTRA and Rocking the Daisies. His catalogue includes many collaborations (with Bongeziwe Mabandla, Jullian Gomes, Atjazz, Sio and others), reflecting steady work producing and remixing for the wider scene.
