Donald Lawrence is a Grammy Award-winning gospel music songwriter, record producer, composer, arranger, and singer from Gastonia, North Carolina — widely regarded as one of the most influential architects of modern gospel music. A graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music with a BFA in music, he built his career producing landmark gospel recordings and directing landmark choirs. He served as vocal coach for En Vogue, musical director for Stephanie Mills, and songwriter for the Clark Sisters, and has collaborated with Peabo Bryson, Kirk Franklin, Karen Clark Sheard, Donnie McClurkin, and Mary J. Blige. His Grammy-nominated anthems 'Encourage Yourself' and 'The Blessing of Abraham' became gospel standards, and 'Deliver Me (This Is My Exodus)' featuring Le'Andria Johnson has surpassed 19.5 million Spotify streams. As founder of QuietWater Entertainment, he continues to produce and develop new gospel talent. In 2024-2026 he released multiple singles including work under the 'Global Love Alive (London)' banner and 'imposter syndrome (spiritual mix),' demonstrating continued artistic output across three decades in the genre.
