DJ Dayeh
Gabriela Dayeh is a São Paulo DJ and producer at the heart of "funk bruxaria" — the noisier, horror-aesthetic strain of baile funk that emerged from the city's periphery. She started DJing in 2018 after taking a free turntablism course at a community center, training with DJ Erryg and DJ B8, and cutting her teeth playing rap at small parties on São Paulo's outskirts. Post-pandemic she pivoted to funk and quickly became one of the few women defining the bruxaria sound — described by The FADER as "jagged and metallic, a propulsive engine of bass that taunts you with witchy laughs and chopped-up chants." In 2025 she released her debut album Relíkias da Kond, a remix project flipping classic KondZilla-era funk tracks with MC Bibi Drak on female response vocals. She co-runs the Estoura Caixa party with DJ Bonekinha Iraquiana, hosted a São Paulo Funk introduction mix on NTS Radio, and has been profiled by The FADER, Billboard Brasil, Symphonic and Globo's G1. She holds a postgrad in Social Sciences with a focus on labor sociology, and ships singles almost weekly.
