DJ K (Kaique Alves Vieira) is a 25-year-old producer from Diadema, São Paulo, and a leading architect of 'funk bruxaria' — a dark, distorted, horrorcore-inflected mutation of São Paulo's funk mandelão built around high-frequency tuin sounds, slasher-film samples and abrupt noise bursts. Self-taught on FL Studio from age 17, he founded the Bruxaria Sound label and now leads a 17-artist collective of MCs, DJs and producers shaping the sound in the city's favelas. His debut album 'Pânico no Submundo' (Nyege Nyege Tapes, 2023) earned a 7.9 from Pitchfork and landed on its Best Electronic Music of 2023 list, igniting international coverage from Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, The Guardian, The Fader, Dazed and Mixmag. He followed it with 'O Fim!' (2024) and the politically charged 'Rádio Libertadora!' (Nyege Nyege Tapes, 2025), released as a 300-copy limited vinyl LP. With ~106K monthly Spotify listeners, 250+ releases and a fresh April 2026 single, DJ K is one of the most internationally visible voices of contemporary Brazilian funk's experimental fringe.
