deepspace is the ambient project of Mirko Ruckels, a German-French musician living in Brisbane, Australia. Since 2007 he has made slow, spacious music from synthesizers, software and acoustic instruments. He releases his albums on Projekt Records and independently. Spotify lists the music as space music, ambient and drone.

The newest album, The Atlas Sector, came out on Projekt Records on 11 September 2026. It has twenty tracks in four suites, one for each planet in a system called Atlas, and a free companion gamebook: an interactive sci-fi adventure that plays in a browser. Mirko Ruckels composed, recorded and mixed it at Bickering Goat Studios, and Angel Marcloid mastered it at Angel Hair Audio. Echoes named Neon Blue Utopia its CD of the Month for January 2025 and aired an interview with him in November 2025. Chain D.L.K. published an interview on Water Planets on 4 September 2025.
