deBasement is a queer/trans electropop-bass duo from Los Angeles, formed in 2024 by Alli Logout — frontperson of the critically acclaimed punk band Special Interest — and Margo XS, a Grammy-nominated producer and DJ who has worked with Kim Petras, Zara Larsson, and underground artists like Ayesha Erotica and Mowalola. Born from the DIY afterhours party scenes of Montreal and New Orleans, their sound fuses dance-punk confrontation, modern ghettotech, and overdriven club-pop bass into tracks built for sweaty, zero-chill dancefloors. They debuted in August 2024 with the double single "FRONT LEFT SPEAKER / FTDJ (Thank God)" on Peggy Gou's In Real Life imprint, followed by the self-titled EP and summer anthem "Aperol Spritz." Their 2026 single "STAY IN UR LANE" and Nikki Nair collaboration "AFTERMARKET BASS" keep the momentum going ahead of the HARDBODY project. deBasement has already played Berghain, Primavera Sound, Homobloc, Wide Awake Festival, and A Club Called Rhonda, with support from Bambii, Kim Petras, AG Cook, Juliana Huxtable, and Nikki Nair — injecting raunchy, raw authenticity into LA's queer rave underground.
