Bio

Curses is the solo project of Italo-American musician, producer and DJ Luca Venezia, born in New York City and based in Berlin since 2015. His sound fuses new wave, post-punk, EBM, new beat and Italo disco, often layering live guitars and vocals over club-ready arrangements for a blend of romantic and punk energy steeped in 80s and 90s nostalgia. He debuted the Curses alias with the album 'Romantic Fiction' (2018) on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno, followed by 'Incarnadine' (2022), 'Another Heaven' (2024) and 'Silver Tears' (2025), with recent work landing on Italians Do It Better and Eskimo Recordings. He curates the acclaimed 'Next Wave Acid Punx' vinyl compilation series and party, holds a residency at Berlin's Pornceptual, and hosts a monthly show on Rinse FM France. Curses has collaborated with fashion house Saint Laurent and performs at venues and festivals including DC-10, Nuits Sonores and Grauzone.
