Philly-born drummer Chubby Johnson has been making heads nod in the city's funk, jazz, and hip-hop scene for decades. With a passion for lo-fi chillhop, and bazooka tube break beats moist with 808 body vibrations, Chubbs crafts infectious grooves that make dat azz shake,heads go uh-huh on the 1 and making folks get on up. After honing his personal style behind the kit for years, Chubbs has gone on to produce critically acclaimed EPs that blend vintage drum samples, lush textures, with his signature sound and vibe. When he's not out kickin the boom.bap live playing gigs with Philly's top artists, you can find Chubby Johnson in the studio, continuously pushing out that tasty stuff.
