Christopher Willits is a San Francisco-based guitarist, electronic composer, producer and immersive-audio engineer who has been a staple of Ghostly International for two decades. A graduate of Mills College, where he studied with Fred Frith and Pauline Oliveros, he is known for his signature folding technique of live resampling and for one of the most diverse and prolific catalogues in contemporary ambient music, including a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto and work connected to Tycho. He creates binaural and spatial-audio masters, mixing with up to 32 speakers, and is co-founder and director of Envelop, a nonprofit dedicated to immersive listening. He has new music in 2026 and works at the leading edge of spatial mixing and mastering for other artists.
