Charlie Bennett is a 25-year-old bedroom pop artist and self-taught producer from Birmingham, UK. Inspired by Dayglow and Beabadoobee, he began releasing music in late 2020 after learning to record and produce from his bedroom during lockdown — a DIY ethos he still champions, making music with whatever gear he has instead of traditional studio setups. His breakout single Is This Falling? has surpassed 6 million streams (recorded with a £20 microphone and an iPhone), and led to his debut EP Duvet Days. He doubled down on bedroom recording for Poster Boy (100k+ streams in its first month) and released the Sweetie EP via London indie label Young Poet in 2024. In May 2026 he dropped the single Sunday Morning Afternoon, continuing a run of Spotify playlist support (New Music Friday UK, Fresh Finds) and BBC Introducing airplay. His fan community — the Strawbennetts — spans 500k+ social followers, and he remains fully independent, funding releases through Patreon and direct fan support.
