Butcher Brown
Butcher Brown is a Richmond, Virginia-based quintet that creates what they call 'solar music' — a forward-thinking fusion of jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul, and rock. Comprising drummer Corey Fonville, producer and multi-instrumentalist DJ Harrison (Devonne Harris), bassist Andrew Randazzo, trumpeter/saxophonist Marcus Tenney, and guitarist Morgan Burrs, the band has been earning 'daps from the jazz cats, the rap scene, the indie scene, and everyone else' since forming in 2009. They have performed sold-out NPR Tiny Desk Concerts, toured with Kamasi Washington, and released music on Concord Jazz. Their 2025 album Letters From The Atlantic features collaborations with Yaya Bey, Melanie Charles, and Nicholas Payton, and their new album A Supreme Blue arrives July 23, 2026. DJ Harrison, the band's producer and multi-instrumentalist, also records prolifically as a solo artist on Stones Throw Records, with credits across the neo-soul and jazz-funk landscape.
