Black Milk (Curtis Cross) is a Detroit-based producer and rapper with a career spanning more than 20 years. He first gained recognition producing for Slum Village in the early 2000s before launching his solo career with Popular Demand (2007). Across eight solo albums and numerous beat tapes, his sound has evolved from classic soul-sampled boom-bap into a live-instrumentation blend of funk, soul, jazz, psych rock, gospel, electronic and hip-hop. He has produced for artists like Danny Brown and collaborated with Jack White. His latest album, CEREMONIAL, arrived in May 2026, extending a prolific run that keeps him among the most respected producers in underground hip-hop.
