Baiuca is the project of Galician producer and composer Alejandro Guillán, from Catoira (Galicia, Spain). Since debuting around 2017, he has become one of the most innovative voices in contemporary Spanish music, pioneering a folktronica sound that fuses traditional Galician folk — muiñeiras, pandereteiras, traditional vocals and acoustic instrumentation — with cutting-edge electronic production, club rhythms and pop structures. His albums Solpor (2018), Embruxo (2021) and Barullo (2024) drew critical acclaim and collaborations with artists such as Rodrigo Cuevas, helping bring the Galician language to stages worldwide. His music asks, in his own words, whether a drum machine can dance to the rhythm of a muiñeira. He remains highly active, releasing the single Mazarocas in April 2026 alongside an ongoing remix series and a busy European touring schedule.
