Austin Wintory is a GRAMMY- and BAFTA-winning American composer based in Los Angeles, celebrated for his groundbreaking video game scores and his prolific body of work across over 60 films. His score for Sony's Journey (2012) made history as the first video game soundtrack ever to receive a Grammy nomination and debuted on the Billboard charts higher than any game score before it. He followed that landmark achievement with ABZU, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, The Banner Saga series, Monaco 2, Stray Gods, and Towerborne, earning two BAFTAs and multiple Grammy nominations along the way. In 2026 he won the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games for Sword of the Sea, and received the SCL Award for Outstanding Original Score for Interactive Media. Wintory also co-hosts two podcasts — The Game Maker's Notebook and Brushes and Keys — establishing him as a leading voice in the composer community.
