Ana Roxanne (born Ana Roxanne Recto, April 1, 1987) is an American experimental and ambient musician based in New York, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. She studied jazz in Iowa, performed prog-math rock in Minneapolis, traveled to India to study Hindustani vocal techniques, and then enrolled at Mills College in Oakland to explore electronic music composition — a journey that produced a uniquely layered sonic language combining jazz, choral, ambient, and Hindustani classical traditions. Her 2020 debut album Because of a Flower on the acclaimed Kranky label cemented her reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in American ambient music. In 2023 she collaborated with DJ Python on Natural Wonder Beauty Concept, and her 2026 album Poem 1 marks a powerful new chapter — featuring recent singles Untitled II and Keepsake.
