8485 (also known as Eighty; born Cat Trevingt) is a Toronto-based singer, songwriter, and self-producer working at the intersection of hyperpop, glitch and experimental pop. She started out playing in post-hardcore bands as a teenager before pivoting to electronic production around 2020, citing Grimes' Art Angels and Marina's Electra Heart as foundational influences. After her breakout 2021 EP 'plague town' she leaned into a cyborg/AI persona that she later set aside on her 2023 EP 'Personal Protocol' (Eyeball Records), a drum-and-bass-leaning project she described as a way to reclaim her humanity. Beyond her own catalog she has collaborated with Danny Brown, Anamanaguchi, aldn, ericdoa, midwxst, underscores and blackwinterwells, anchoring her in the same digicore/hyperpop ecosystem as dltzk and Jane Remover. Her recent singles 'G.I.R.L.' (2025, with Danny Brown) and 'I Feel Fantastic' (April 2026) push toward a sharper pop sensibility while keeping her noisy, glitch-forward sound design intact. Her own Spotify bio reads simply: 'I used to be a cyborg and so are U.'
